Brian Williams wanted to create something that felt thrilling, human and cinematic. He felt that without the human element, all it would be is an engineering film. He wanted to take us on a journey to somewhere we’ve never been but instantly year for.

When we read the script, we built everything around the people, wonderment and distinctiveness of the project. We infused human elements into every detail of the film, using a bobblehead surfer, family photos, and much more. We kept things intimate by using POV shots while giving the visuals a cinematic quality rooted in the golden age of space exploration.

We used real iPhone footage to drive the CG animations and motion capture to bring the characters to life with help from award-winning Denis.
